What makes these work

Agency cold-pitch subjects need to demonstrate work, not describe service. 'Stole your homepage headline (for a good reason)' beats 'Marketing services for {{company}}' by an order of magnitude — the first shows you did work, the second shows you sent a template. Subject lines that reference a specific page, asset, or recent move ('About the pricing page you shipped last week') signal research and earn the open. Avoid 'partnership' framing in agency subjects; it's a tell that the email is going to ask for something. The best agency subjects either offer something concrete (a teardown, a rewrite) or reference a specific observation the recipient will recognize as accurate.
